The Chief Justice of India BR Gavai along with other judges of the Supreme Court of India today attended the Langar organized at the Supreme Court Plaza Canteen by the lawyers of Supreme Court Bar Association on the auspicious occasion of 556th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Justices Surya Kant, Vikram Nath, Ujjal Bhuyan, Amanullah, N Kotiswar Singh, Dipankar Datta, MM Sundresh, Manmohan, Arvind Kumar were among the judges also in attendance.
Langar, which was started by Guru Nanak Dev Ji himself in the 15th century is a powerful message of selfless service and radical equality.
In Gurudwaras across India and abroad, Sikh community serves food daily to anyone who comes, without asking for anything in return.
Last year too, Supreme Court judges, led by the then Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, had attended a langar organized at the Supreme Court.
