“Aatankiyon ne hamari behano ka sindoor ujada tha, isliye Bharat ne aatank ke headquarters ujaad diye" PM Modi said in his first address to the Nation post Operation Sindoor

In a resolute and emotionally charged address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke publicly for the first time since the launch of Operation Sindoor, India’s decisive counter-terrorism response following the Pahalgam attack on April 22.

Calling the operation a pledge for justice, the Prime Minister declared; “Operation Sindoor was not just a name, it is a pledge for justice.”

He invoked the pain and outrage felt across the country after the heinous assault on civilians, including women and children, stating:

“Aatankiyon ne hamari behano ka sindoor ujada tha, isliye Bharat ne aatank ke headquarters ujaad diye.”

Launched on May 7, the operation targeted key terror infrastructure across the Line of Control, with precision strikes carried out by the Indian Armed Forces. In his address, PM Modi underlined the spirit behind India’s swift response:

“On May 7, the whole world saw our resolve turn into action.”

The Prime Minister expressed deep gratitude to India’s armed forces, intelligence agencies, and scientists, dedicating their courage and success to the women of the country.

He made it clear that the government has given the military full freedom to act;

“We have given full freedom to the Indian army to wipe out the terrorists, and today every terrorist, every terror organisation has now realised the consequences of removing sindoor from the forehead of our women.”

He also conveyed that while the current phase of the operation has been paused, it is by no means over.

“Operation halted only - We’ll keep an eye on Pakistan’s activities,” he said, indicating continued strategic vigilance.

PM Modi concluded with a strong message of unity, resolve, and national pride, signaling that India would no longer tolerate provocations that threaten the lives or dignity of its citizens.
