Jagadguru Paramhansacharya, who came to Agra from Ayodhya to visit the Taj Mahal but was denied entry owing to his Dharmdand & Bhagwa Vastra (wooden stick and saffron clothes) has moved Allahabad High Court seeking relief.

The Jagadguru has sought ad-interim mandamus commanding and directing the administration and security officer of Taj Mahal to allow him and his pupil to enter the monument premises with their Dharmdand and Bhagwa Vastra without any restrictions.

The writ petition, moved through Advocate Tiwari Abhishek Rajesh, states that the prohibition of the entry of the petitioners (Jagadguru and Dharmendra Goswami) into the Tajmahal is against the provision of natural justice and a violation of their fundamental rights provided by the Constitution of India.

"....in the Hindu religion Jagatguru has the authority to take Dharmdand and wear Bhagwa Vastra and they are allowed go anywhere in India without any permission and they also can travel by any mode of transport," the plea reads.

The plea also mentions that a day after when Jagadguru was denied entry to the Taj Mahal, one person was permitted to visit the archeological wonder with his Dharmdand and Bhagwa Vastra, regarding which, a piece of news was also published by Dainik Jagran daily newspaper.

The Jagadguru was first denied entry to the Taj Mahal on April 26, however, as per the plea, on the next day on April 27, the officer of the Archeological Survey of India namely R.K. Patel invited him and his pupil to visit the monument on or before May 5. "but when petitioners reached at Tajmahal on 03.05.2022 they have prohibited again to visit Tajmahal," the plea claims.

Jagadguru and Goswami were also made house arrested and a news piece was also published in Amar Ujala and Hindustan newspapers regarding this on May 4.

It has also been alleged in the petition that for permission of the petitioners to visit the Tajmahal, a representation before the competent authority of the Archeological Survey of India, which controls the white wonder, was also made on May 3, however, no action has been taken till now.

Though claiming that the Jagadguru has no intention to create hindrance or nuisance at the Tajmahal, the plea states, "Now petitioners have doubt that there is some mystery in the Taj Mahal and they have suspicion that there were some ancient Hindu temples (there)...Therefore, the matter needs proper investigation."
