Jolly LLB 3: Pune Court Summons Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi for Alleged Insult to Judiciary

A Civil Court in Pune has issued summons to Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and director Subhash Kapoor. They are required to appear in court over allegations that their forthcoming film, Jolly LLB 3, disrespects the judiciary. Court hearing is scheduled for October 28, 2025.
The summons follows a petition by Advocate Wajed Rahim Khan who contended that the teaser mocks the judiciary and legal profession under the guise of satire.
The petitioners criticized a portrayal where lawyers refer to judges as "Mamu", deeming it derogatory.
They further argued that court scenes depicted lawyers behaving like they were in a domestic squabble, which they find "offensive to the entire legal community," even if intended as satire. The petitioners are seeking a ban on the release of the film.
Acting upon the plea, the Pune civil court, presided over by 15th Joint CJSD and Addl CJM J. G. Pawar, issued summons to Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and the producers.
Jolly LLB 3 marks the third installment in the popular legal comedy series. It reunites Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi as their respective "Jolly" characters, with Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, and Annu Kapoor also reprising key roles.
The film is written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, and produced by Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare under Star Studio18.
It is currently slated for theatrical release on September 19, 2025.
