Top Court has been told that 'no prosecution of the accused persons is possible in the State of Madhya Pradesh'
The mother of a 20-year-old Dalit woman, Anjana, who along with her brother Nitin and her uncle Rajinder, was allegedly murdered by goons related to former Home Minister of the State of Madhya Pradesh, has approached the Supreme Court of India seeking a CBI/SIT investigation into their deaths.
The petitioner has submitted before court that she fears the former Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh may wreak further vengeance on her family and herself for filing a complaint against members of the gang of the former Home Minister as well as himself to the police.
Allegedly, the three persons have been killed with the police extending full assistance to the accused persons only because the former State Home Minister and his group was behind the killings.
Top Court has been told the investigation by state police was sabotaged and eyewitnesses killed as a result of a criminal conspiracy, which involved members of the village's dominant community headed by the former home minister.
The murders are said to be committed by members of the Thakur community who are closely related to the former home minister and BJP MLA Bhupendra Singh.
In 2019, deceased Anjana Ahirwar, who was only 15 years old at that time, was beaten and molested by Azad Thakur, Pushpendra Thakur, Chotu Raikawar and Vishal Thakur of her village.
As per the petitioner, the accused individuals are politically influential with the primary accused being former Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh and the current MLA of Sagar, has repeatedly interfered in the investigation.
In this backdrop, the petitioner further seeks transfer of investigation from Madhya Pradesh to Delhi so that the entire proceedings will be conducted in an independent and fair manner.
Immediate and effective police protection for the members of the family of the deceased has also been sought.
