Motivational Speaker Updesh Rana has moved Supreme Court alleging that he is consistently receiving life-threatening calls from various means and different international calls from various organizations including the Islamic State terrorist organization ISIS and Daud Gangs.

The plea filed through Advocate Dr. AP Singh states that in view of the Kamlesh Tiwari 2019 murder case, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Gandhi Nagar had directed deployment of one Personal Security Officer (PSO) with Rana considering the threat to life within the territory of Gujarat. He alleged that Rana is receiving regular life-threatening calls and in this regard, various FIRs have been registered in various police stations in different states.

The plea further submits that during an investigation conducted by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Gujarat, the team recovered a list of targets from the murder accused in the case of Kamlesh Bharwad, wherein Rana's name was also listed. There is a link between both the murders, it claims.

The plea states that Rana is a "famous Promoter for Hinduism so there is always threat on life. And as an individual petitioner is not capable to protect his life from Mafia and anti-Social Group and Terrorist organizations."

Whereas, due to such fear of death Rana is unable to perform his social and professional duties which causes grave mental agony as well as harm to Rana, the plea adds.

The plea mentions that Rana is a Social Activist, and a Speaker, who runs a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) named Updesh Rana Youth Organization and Sanatan Sangh Charitable Trust. Rana is quite known on Social Media and is also a Promoter of the Ideology of Hinduism in India.

Through this plea, Rana has sought an appropriate security arrangement throughout India as 1 PSO provided in the territory of Gujarat is not sufficient. The plea mentiones an incident wherein Rana was traveling to Kedarnath and two bike riders pointed a pistol toward Rana, however, Rana drove his car out immediately escaping the event.

Rana further states that false and fabricated WhatsApp chats were circulated and went viral and that he played a vital role in the execution of the Delhi Riots.
