An intervention application has been filed by a registered Trust "Hindu Front for Justice" in a pending plea against the Haridwar hate speech incident stating, "a movement to convert to convert Hindus is going on in the whole of India by Muslims and Christian missionaries".

An intervention application has been filed by a registered Trust “Hindu Front for Justice” in the ongoing hate speech case before Supreme Court stating that, “a movement to convert to convert Hindus is going on in the whole of India by Muslims and Christian missionaries”.

The application has been filed in a pending petition filed by Qurban Ali seeking the Court’s intervention in respect of the ‘hate speeches’ that were delivered on December 17, 2021, at Haridwar at an event organized by Yati Narsinghanand, on December 19, 2021, at Delhi, organized by an organization called ‘Hindu Yuva Vahini’, etc.

The plea application through Advocates Hari Shankar Jain and Vishnu Shankar Jain stated that on multiple occasions, Muslim mobs brought out processions in which they can be heard calling for beheading (“Sar Tan se Juda”) and thereafter, many incidents of beheading have taken place in various parts of the country.

The application also stated a few instances wherein stand-up comedians have blatantly made crass and insulting jokes on Hindu Gods and religion. It mentioned Munawar Faruqui’s recent video insulting Lord Ram and Mata Sita, wherein he uses explicit and abusive language. The plea further stated instances where “hate speeches” have resulted in “actual crimes”. It noted specific instances of hate crimes against Hindus by Muslims.

“The hate crimes being committed by Muslims against Hindus are rapidly growing but the police are very slow in taking action against the culprits due to political reasons and/or fear of Muslim ‘mobocracy’. However, in some very compelling circumstances, the Police registered FIR. Still, no effective action was taken to curb the ongoing hatred against Hindus prevalent in a section of Muslims”, the application read.

Furthermore, the application stated that Christian missionaries are active in various parts of India, owing to poverty and giving allurement they take advantage mostly of SC/ST Hindus and convert them to Christianity unethically.

“It is not out of place to mention that in Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, state of Odisha, and other places in India the Christian missionaries are trying to convert the innocent Hindus taking advantage of the situation”, the application stated.

Notably, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana issued notice in the Public Interest Litigation seeking the Court's intervention in alleged hate speeches delivered in Haridwar and Delhi expressing its apprehension on other similar matters and intervention applications being filed with regard to the same issue.
