A Delhi Court today directed Bollywood Singer Honey Singh to appear before it on September 3 in a domestic violence case filed against the singer by his wife, Shalini Talwar.
Directing Singh to appear before the Court on the next date of hearing, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh said "No one is above the Law". The singer had failed to appear before the Court today on account of poor health.
Earlier the Court had passed interim orders in favour of Shalini Talwar Restraining Honey Singh from disposing of his jointly owned property, his wife's Stridhan etc.
Talwar has alleged that Singh "showed no shame in attacking, browbeating, manhandling, cheating, being disloyal and causing irreparable harm to the woman he was supposed to cherish and protect."
The applicant on the other hand has been a dutiful wife and has always discharged all her responsibilities with love and care.
Talwar has alleged that Singh has been sexually involved with multiple women behind her back and cheated her in marital life. Moreover he also physically assaulted her on several occasions and caused her immense trauma throughout their marriage.
It has further been alleged that Singh along with his mother and father caused her extreme duress and torture due to which she has suffered immense pain and hurt. Talwar has sought a monthly rent of Rs 5 lakh towards a fully furnished accomodation in a reputed part of Delhi.
A prayer has also been made to retrain Singh from alienating/selling/disposing of or creating any third party interest on the matrimonial home of Talwar. She has further stated that since the entire Stridhan is in possesiion of her husband and in-laws she fears misappropriation of the same and has sought a direction to Singh and his family to hand over the entire Stridhan to her.
Talwar has further sought for a direction to Singh to pay an amount of Rs 20 Crore under Section 22 and 23 of the Domestic violence Act towards interim compensation for perpetrating domestic violence on her.
The matter is listed for next hearing on August 28.
