“Statements hurt our sentiments”: Intervention plea’s moved in plea against Kangana Ranaut for censoring her social media content

A group of Sikhs and a Guru Nanak Naam Leva Hindu have filed an application for intervention in the writ petition filed against actor Kangana Ranaut.

The petition states that all the petitioners are hurt by the words used by Kangna Ranaut Respondent on Instagram and other Social Media. According to the petition if there is no restraints prayed for in the writ petition are not permitted. The petition further states that if the actor is permitted to publish content like this, some other miscreants may also start saying similar things about Sikhs.

The petition further states that some miscreants may even make statements during the prayer congregations (Sadh Sangat) of Sikhs. According to the petition such irresponsible statements made by the actor may even affect admission of Sikh Children in schools and other walks of life. According to the petition statements made in such an irresponsible manner can have far reaching consequences.

According to the petition keeping in mind the overall antecedents of social media posts of Kangna Ranaut, some curbs are necessary. The petition further states that by putting these curbs, no one is completely stopping her from making statements in a responsible manner.

A plea had been filed in the Supreme Court against actor Kangana Ranaut, urging the Court to censor all future social media posts by her "in order to maintain law and order situation" in the country.

The plea is moved by one Sardar Charanjeet Singh Chanderpal who has sought for an order to transfer all pending FIRs registered against Ranaut across India to Khar Police Station in Mumbai.The petitioner has further sought that chargesheets in all these cases must be submitted in six months and that the trial be completed in two years.
