The Supreme Court on Monday considered directing the Centre and Airport Authority of India to come up with a standard operating procedure for wheelchair bound passengers.

The bench also comprising Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra issued notice on the plea seeking effective enforcement of regulations, making it returnable on 15 March 2024.

Instant petition has been filed by Arushi Singh, through Advocate Abiha Zaidi.

Singh, who suffers from 75% disability had asked for assistance at the airport but none was provided.

"During the screening, she was asked multiple times to stand. They asked why she cannot stand for a few minutes,” the lawyer submitted before court.
