Court has also directed the two accused, namely, Sachin Sharma and Shubham Gurjar to surrender before the police within a week.

Supreme Court has quashed an Allahabad High Court order granting bail to two men who were accused of firing at AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi's vehicle in February this year.

A bench of Justices MR Shah and MM Sundresh has given the accused persons one week's time to surrender.

Moreover, the Top Court has remitted the matter back to the High Court on remand and has asked it to decide the same in 4 weeks.

"No reason given by High Court while granting bail”, said the Court while setting aside the order.

Owaisi's car was attacked in Hapur while he was returning to Delhi after attending election-related events in western Uttar Pradesh.

In his plea, challenging the bail granted to those who shot at him, Owaisi told the Court that the order was a classic example of a disproportionate amount of prejudice and hate-related crimes leading to the incident of an attempt to murder.

On September 30th, the Supreme Court had sought a response from the Uttar Pradesh government and the two accused men Sachin Pandit and Shubham Gurjar, on the limited notice issued to consider whether the Allahabad High Court should be asked to reconsider the bail.
