The Supreme Court slammed ex-IPL commissioner Lalit Modi and further directed him to apologize on social media and in major national newspapers for his remarks against judiciary.
The Supreme Court today slammed the ex-IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi for making remarks against the judiciary on social media platforms.
The bench of Justices MR Shah and CT Ravikumar expressed dissatisfaction with Lalit Modi's counter-affidavit that was filed.
The bench stated, "He is not above the law and the institutions."
The bench was hearing a contempt petition filed by the senior advocate C.U.Singh.
According to a report in Indian Express, the apex court ordered the former IPL commissioner to apologize on social media and in major national newspapers.
The Supreme Court also ordered him to write an affidavit before it, apologising and promising that no such posts would be made in the future that would even remotely degrade the image of the Indian judiciary.
