The Supreme Court of India today refused a plea made before it seeking to stop the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected ministers in Haryana.

Notably, the plea also sought re-election for 20 seats for the state of Haryana.

A visibly miffed Chief Justice of India told the counsel mentioning the plea, "We will impose costs on you, you want us to stop the oath taking of an elected government".

"We are putting you on guard.. circulate the papers..", the bench added agreeing to hear the plea at the end of the board.

The counsel appearing for Congress party was later asked as to what kind of a petition he had filed.

Court went on to dismiss the petition noting it had alleged discrepancies in EVMs.

Nayab Singh Saini took oath as the Haryana Chief Minister for the second time today as his oath was administered by Governor Bandaru Dattatreya.

The swearing-in ceremony took place in Panchkula on Thursday, specially scheduled to be held on Valmiki Jayanti. 13 ministers including Anil Vij and Shruti Chaudhary, have also been sworn-in to the Haryana state Cabinet.
