The Aam Aadmi Party and its members have been asked to refrain from publicly commenting on the accusations of corruption and money laundering made against the LG through tweets, articles, interviews, and any other form of expression.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday restrained Aam Aadmi Party and its leaders from making allegedly "false" allegations against Delhi Lieutenant Governor NK Saxena.
A bench of Justice Amit Bansal also issued a direction to take down alleged defamatory tweets made by AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Atishi Singh.
The order has been passed in a petition filed by the Lt Governor asking for an interim injunction prohibiting the Aam Aadmi Party and its members from making any public statements about the allegations of corruption and money laundering against the LG through tweets, articles, interviews, or any other means.
It was argued by the counsel appearing for the Lt Governor that the AAP leaders' claims are unsupported by any evidence and that the documents they used to support their claims were fabricated.
Justice Amit Bansal, while allowing the interim relief, said, "I have passed an ad-interim injunction order in favour of the plaintiff."
The Lt Governor has filed a civil defamation lawsuit against AAP, its leaders Sanjay Singh, Atishi Singh, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Durgesh Pathak, and Jasmine Shah for allegedly making disparaging comments during a press conference and on social media.
The AAP leaders have alleged that the LG was involved in a Rs 1,400 crore scam.
