Petitioner, Vidhu Shekhar Trivedi, who was appearing in person in the matter, had filed the present PIL for the following primary relief:

"A writ, order of direction in the nature of mandamus be issued commanding the opposite parties to immediately remove 75 fictitious mantras and 87 mantras of Brahman Bhag as mentioned in annexure no.1 of this writ petition from Shukla Yajurveda Samhita."

The division bench, in view of the prayer made in the petition, found it not maintainable. Therefore, dismissed the same.

Shukla Yajurveda Samhita contains the verses necessary for rituals and has separately a Brahmana text, the Shatapatha Brahmana.
