The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday issued a bailable warrant against IAS Prashant Trivedi in a contempt of court case.

The bench of Justice Vivek Chaudhary passed the order in a contempt application filed by Dr. Om Prakash Gupta who alleged that the high court's order on May 6, 2022 to confer benefit of the Special Assured Career Promotion (SACP) Scheme to Ayurvedic and Unani medical officers at par with allopathic medical officers, had not been complied with.

Through the May 6 order, the high court had directed that the SACP scheme implemented vide Government Order dated 14 November 2014, by which allopathic medical officers were being provided the benefit of the said scheme, shall be applicable to the medical officers of other streams of specialization also.

On May 10 this year, the high court had granted three weeks' time to the IAS officer to file an affidavit of compliance indicating the compliance of the order passed by the court failing with the court had asked him to appear in person.

However, on July 4, court noted that neither the IAS officer was present nor any application on his behalf had been filed.

Taking a serious view, the court, therefore, ordered, "In view thereof, let bailable warrant be issued against the opposite party Sri Prashant Trivedi to be executed through Chief Judicial Magistrate, Lucknow for his appearance before this Court on 14.07.2023".

The matter will be next heard on July 14, 2023.
