Bombay High Court Disposes of Writ Petition After College Declares Missing Results Of Final Semester Of 8 Law Students

Synopsis

The division bench after taking note of the respondent's statements of declaration of the missing results disposed of the writ petition.

A division bench of Bombay High Court comprising of Justice S.V Gangapurwala and Justice R.N Ladha on Monday disposed of a writ petition filed by 8 law students against Mumbai University and GLC college for declaration of missing mark sheets of their final semester exam.

The respondents during the hearing submitted before the court that the missing results of the 8 law students were declared by the college and Mumbai University on Sunday evening and the 8 students will be issued a hard copy within one day.

Taking note of the submission, Court disposed of the petition.

The said writ petition was filed on the ground of violation of fundamental rights under articles 14, 16, 19(i)(a), 19(i)(g), and 21 of the Constitution. The petitioners stated that they had lost opportunities in PSUs, law chambers and firms, and IBPS recruitment exams because of the delay in the declaration of results. They averred that they had to forgo several opportunities including higher studies which had not only affected their carrier but also caused mental agony.
