Delhi Minorities Commission Chairman acting like AAP's Agent: Delhi HC issues notice in plea by Jama Masjid resident seeking removal of Zakir Khan

The Delhi High Court today issued notice in a plea seeking removal of Zakir Khan from the post of the Chairman of Delhi Minorities Commission for allegedly misusing his position and "acting as an agent of Aam Aadmi Party".

The division bench comprising Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh issued notice on a plea by a resident of Jama Masjid, Abdul Aamir Amiro who has alleged that Khan has been flouting the Delhi Minorities Commission Rules and has been actively engaging himself in AAP's meetings and also promoting the party.

Amiro has further submitted in his plea that Khan has knowingly misused his position and powers and government money in order to influence other and promoting the Aam Aadmi Party to achieve his political gains.

The petitioner has further sought a direction to stop forthwith any pay or remuneration to Khan and withdraw all facilities available to him as the Chairman of the Commission.

The petitioner has also sought for a direction to Khan to refund the entire amount which has been paid to him since the date of his joining as a chairman of the Commission and to take take strict legal action against him.

Notices have been issued to Governmnet of NCT Delhi, Delhi Miniorities Commission and Zakir Khan.
