Supreme Court Shows Strong Disapproval On A Plea Seeking Same Uniform in Educational Institutions Across the Country

The object of bringing one uniform was stressed on, wherein it was contended that the need has far reaching benefits in terms of discipline. Moreover, while stating the need for a dress code, right to education was hit upon.

A Supreme Court Bench of Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia, while hearing a petition on bringing in uniformity in dress codes of educational institutions, expressed strong resentment and disapproval on the matter, and thus the idea. Pursuant to which, the Counsel expressed his willingness to withdraw the matter. 

Senior Advocate, Gaurav Bhatia appeared before the Court, contending that there was a need to bring one uniform for all students, teachers in educational institutions, across the country, to bring uniformity. The object of bringing one uniform was further stressed on, wherein it was contended that the need has far reaching benefits in terms of discipline. Moreover, while stating the need for a dress code, right to education was hit upon.

The Bench exclaimed that, "we cannot have the same uniform for schools across the country".
