Synopsis

The makers agreed to modify the "Jai Shree Ram" slogan to "Tumko Tumhari Bhagwan Ki Kasam" and also agreed to give a disclaimer regarding the objectionable Triple Talaq scene

The Bombay High Court has allowed the release of the movie "Teesri Begum" after the makers agreed to modify the "Jai Shree Ram" slogan in the movie.

A single judge bench of the high court, comprising Justice RI Chagla, was hearing a petition filed by KC Bokadia, the producer of the movie.

Bokadia was ordered by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to modify a scene wherein a Muslim man chanted "Jai Shree Ram" while the Hindu wives attacked him.

The CBFC also ordered the removal of another scene related to Triple Talaq on the basis that it was against the Supreme Court judgment.

The CBFC also informed the bench that since the modification is made, it would consider whether an 'A' certification or 'U/A' certification should be granted as per the law once the application is filed for the same.

The makers agreed to modify the "Jai Shree Ram" slogan to "Tumko Tumhari Bhagwan Ki Kasam" and also agreed to give a disclaimer regarding the objectionable Triple Talaq scene.

Following this, the high court allowed the movie to be released.
