Punjab and Haryana High Court asks Police to ascertain if there is a threat against brother of slain Akal Dal Leader Vicky Middukhera

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked the Punjab police to assess if there is any threat to the life of Ajay Pal Singh Middukhera, the brother of murdered Youth, Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera.

Ajay Pal Singh had moved the High Court asking for directions to the police to provide proper security to him being sole eye witness to the murder of his brother.

Vicky was shot dead in August 2021 at Mohali allegedly by members of a gang called Bambhi group that is based out of Punjab. The plea has been filed in the light of Ajay Pal Singh’s previous allegation that slain singer cum political Sidhu Moosewala and his manager had a role to play in the murder of his brother.

There have also been allegations that Moosewala was murdered by infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to avenge Vicky’s death as the former and the latter were allegedly college mates. A Member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang claimed responsibility for the murder of Moosewala via a Facebook video soon after the news came out.

Justice Karamjit Singh of the High Court on hearing the submissions of Bipin Ghai, Sr. Adv, representing Ajay Pal Singh noted in his order has noted that the plea has been moved by Ajay Pal Singh Middukhera seeking directions to the officials to provide proper security to him as he is the sole eye witness in the murder of his brother and is being threatened by accused involved in the murder of his brother.

The order notes that Ajay Pal Singh’s counsel had contended that they had sent representation to the authorities but the same has not been considered and the authorities failed to take appropriate measures and to provide any protection or security to Ajay Pal Singh.

The court has directed the Senior Superintendent of Police to look into the representation for security and assess threat perception and if the situation so warrants, then to do the needful in accordance with law and to submit its report in this regard by the next date of hearing.
