Court was agitated by the reasoning, and questioned if that is the purpose and the matter to be dealt by the Courts. And such petitions compel the Courts to impose costs on such parties, Court added.
On Monday, a Bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Abhay S Oka, of the Supreme Court, denied to entertain a petition where directions to declare Cow as the national animal was sought for.
In the plea, the petitioner Govansh Sewa Sadan, an NGO had approached the Court, where it contended that a Cow is an important animal, as we derive many benefits from them, and that being the reason for ensuring safeguards and protective measures.
The Bench, however, refused to accept the contention, and the ground on which the petition under Article 32 of the Constitution of India, was presented before the Court.
The Court further asked the petitioners, that what fundamental right was impinged from the reason that they had come to the Court with, and the necessity to approach the Court for the same.
With the observation, the Top Court allowed the petition to be withdrawn.
