Supreme Court grants interim protection to actress Poonam Pandey in porn racket case

A Supreme Court bench of Justices Vineet Saran and Nagarathna today granted interim protection to actress Poonam Pandey in the porn racket case. The court has issued notice and directed that no coercive action be taken against her.

Pandey had previously approached Bombay High Court seeking an anticipatory bail in relation to the case, however the same was rejected by the High Court, she has approached the Supreme Court subsequently.

It is to be noted that this is the case where Raj Kundra, the husband of Shilpa Shetty, is one of the main accused. He was granted bail by a Bombay Court last year.

According to the plea Pandey, she states that is not a partner in such schemes but is a victim herself.
