Allegedly, people deposited money on the website named after UP Chief Minister, however, accused Kuldeep Sharma used the money for himself.
The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to one Kuldeep Sharma @Kuldeep Hindu, a self-styled Hindu Leader, in a Gangster Act case.
The bench of Justice Ramesh Sinha passed the order in a bail plea moved by Sharma stating that the present case under the U.P. Gangster and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, was registered against him on the basis of a criminal case where he has been already granted bail.
In the other case registered in the year 2020, Sharma is accused of duping people by misusing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's popularity. In this case, Sharma has been granted bail earlier this month.
Allegedly, Sharma got two websites developed- one using the chief minister's name and the other projecting Sharma as a Hindu leader and people were befooled to deposit the money in the account indicated on the said website, however, he used the money for himself.
Pressing Sharma's bail plea in the present case, his counsel argued before the court that he had been falsely implicated in the present case due to police rivalry.
He submitted that Sharma is neither a member of any gang nor there is any other criminal history of him other than the criminal case, already mentioned.
Therefore, further assuring the court that if released, Sharma would not misuse his liberty, his counsel prayed for the bail plea to be granted.
Without expressing any opinion on the merits, court allowed the bail application and directed Sharma to be released on bail on his furnishing a personal bond and two heavy sureties each in the like amount to the satisfaction of the court concerned.
Moreover, court directed the Trial Court to conclude the trial expeditiously, if possible, within a period of one year from the date of production of certified copy of the order.
