Civil Judge (Sr. D.), Varanasi Court Ravi Kumar Diwakar who had ordered the video survey of the Gyanvapi complex informed the Uttar Pradesh authorities on Tuesday that he had received a hand-written threat letter allegedly written by one Kashif Ahmed Siddiqui.
Addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Director General of Police (DGP) and the Varanasi Police Commissionerate, Judge's letter states that the threat letter was dated June 4th and was written on behalf of the Islamic Aagaz Movement. The judge has demanded necessary and appropriate action by the State authorities.
As per the Judge's letter, the threat letter stated, "You have made a statement that inspection of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex is a normal process. You are an idol worshipper, you will declare the mosque a temple. No Muslim can expect a right decision from a 'kafir, murtipujak' Hindu judge."
The purported letter added, "Muslim of divided India knows very well that under the pressure of nurturer of extremist Hindus, genocidal, Gurjarati Prime Minister of divided India, you will declare Gyanvapi mosque as a temple and will call Mughals as tyrant robbers."
"Organizations like RSS and all the affiliated Hindu extremist organizations and your Modi Ji have hatched a conspiracy to organize riots in UP on the lines of Gujarat," it added.
On April 8, the Civil Judge had ordered a videography survey of the Gyanvapi complex in the plea filed by 5 women seeking performance of all rituals inside the Gyanvapi complex. The report of the survey was presented in court on May 19.
On May 19, the Top Court directed the suit be transferred from the court of Civil Judge Senior Division Varanasi to the court of District Judge for further proceedings. Now the same is pending before the court of District Judge Dr. AK Vishvesha.
As reported by ANI, following the threat letter, the security of the two judges has been beefed up and 9 police personnel have been deployed for the security of Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar and 10 police personnel for the security of the District Judge.
