Lawyer writes to President of India seeking disqualification of Asaduddin Owaisi for raising 'Jai Palestine' slogans

A letter has been written to the President of India seeking to disqualify Asaduddin Salahuddin Owaisi, Member of
Parliament representing Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, for raising slogans of 'Jai Palestine’ soon after taking his oath yesterday.

AOR Alakh Alok Srivastava has brough to the President's attention an extremely disturbing incident which occurred in the Parliament of India yesterday whereby while taking oath as a Member of Parliament, Owaisi raised pro-Palestine slogan and said ‘Jai Palestine’.

"It is pertinent to mention here that this is not the first time when Mr. Owaisi has displayed his unequivocal loyalty, support and allegiance to the said foreign country “Palestine”. Rather, it is a matter of record that Mr. Owaisi has been exhibiting his consistent support, allegiance and adherence to the said foreign state for last many years...", the letter adds.

Accordingly, it has been sought that Owais be forthwith disqualified from being a member of Partiament, as per Article 102 (d) of the Constitution of India.

Srivastava has further stated if action is not forthwith taken against Owaisi, then it will become a precedent and will have
disastrous consequences for our nation.

President of India has thus been requested to kindly seek opinion in this regard from the Election Commission of India under Article 103 (2) and forthwith disqualify Asaduddin Owaisi in the interest of the integrity and unity of our great nation, Bharat.
