SC reconstitutes its Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee; Justice BV Nagarathna the new Chairperson

Synopsis
An office order on the re-constitution was released yesterday evening
The Chief Justice of India has re-constituted the Supreme Court Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee with Justice BV Nagarathna as the new Chairperson.
Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh will serve as a Member of the Committee.
This reconstitution has been done in exercise of powers conferred by Clause 4(2) of the Gender Sensitisation & Sexual Harassment of Women at the Supreme Court of India (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Regulations, 2013.
On May 31, 2024, the Chief Justice of India had re-constituted the Committee, while appointing Justice Hima Kohli as the Chairperson with Justice BV Nagarathna as a Member.
As Justice Kohli retired, the Chairperson's position fell vacant.
Notably, the following members have also been appointed:

- Advocate-on-Record Anindita Pujari, Representative of the Supreme Court Advocate-on-Record Association
- Madhu Chauhan, Representative of the Supreme Court Bar Clerks’ Association
- Senior Advocate Bansuri Swaraj, Nominee of Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India
- Senior Advocate Jaideep Gupta, Senior Member of the Supreme Court Bar Association
- Dr. Leni Chaudhuri, (Executive Director, University of Chicago Centre in India Pvt. Ltd.), Nominee of Chief Justice of India
