[Places of Worship Act, 1991] Jamait Ulama-I-Hind has filed an impleadment application before the Supreme Court with regard to the Writ Petition filed by Advocate Ashwini Upadhyay under Article 32 of the Constitution of India challenging the constitutional validity the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 submitting that the petition seeks to indirectly target places of worship which are presently of Muslim character.

  2. [PIL in SC] Another Public Interest Litigation in the Supreme Court has challenged the provisions of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991. The plea states that a mosque constructed on a temple land cannot be a mosque. "Retrospective cutoff-date was fixed 15th August 1947 (of the Act) to legalize the illegal acts of barbaric invaders. Though, Hindu Law was 'Law in force' at the commencement of the Constitution”,

  4. [NEET PG Admission] The Supreme Court has slammed Medical Consulting Committee for not filling up the remaining 1456 vacant seats in medical colleges in 2021-22 session.   5. [Plea in SC] A plea in the Supreme Court has been filed seeking rupees 510 Crores compensation against a waqf property acquired by the Uttar Pradesh Government. The 80 years old petitioner submits that he is the legal heir of the waqf property. The plea challenges the Allahabad High Court order wherein the court had refused to allow his claim allegedly due under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (LARR) Act, 2013.

[Anekal town councillors disqualification] Supreme Court issued notice in the plea filed by councillors of Anekal town council challenging their disqualification by the State election commission for not sharing details of election expenditure. The Karnataka High Court had dismissed the plea on the ground that the councillors were bound to submit the list of election expenses before the SEC within 30 days from the date of declaration of the election.

  11. [‘Attack’ Pandi] Supreme Court refused to grant bail to ‘Attack’ Pandi, a former aide of DMK leader MK Azhagiri. Pandi has been accused of leading a mob which hurled petrol bombs at a newspaper office, killing three employees. In 2019 sentenced Pandi and eight others to life imprisonment for murder — three counts for each of the three dead victims — under Section 302 of the IPC.

  12. [Foreign Travel] Supreme Court dismissed a plea by Kuldeep Bishnoi, a Congress MLA from Haryana, seeking release of his passport to travel abroad for medical treatment. Bishnoi and his son Bhavya have been accused of offences under the Black Money Act. Bishnoi sought release of his passports, claiming that he needs to travel to the USA for necessary treatment of thyroid cancer at USA, and to attend the commencement ceremony of graduation of his only daughter in the USA.

[BSP MLA Disqualification] A Special Leave Petition has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking an interim order to keep the votes cast at the Rajya Sabha Election by 6 Members of the Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan in sealed cover. The plea also assails the order of the Rajasthan High Court refusing to stay the declaration of Rajya Sabha Election results till the disposal of a PIL pertaining to the disqualification of the six MLAs in the state.

  14. [NEET-PG Plea Dismissed] Top Court dismissed the plea seeking directions to conduct a special stray counselling round for vacant Post Graduate seats pertaining to the academic year 2021. Court had reserved orders in the case. Court noted that the students cannot pray for admission for those seats which are remaining vacant after almost one year and eight to nine rounds of counselling. Court held that when a conscious decision is taken by Union of India and Medical Counselling Committee, it cannot be called arbitrary.
